Fig.5-6 Experimental set-up and results of the highly charged Fe ion-acceleration
A J-KAREN laser with 200 TW laser power was irradiated onto a 0.8-μm-thick Al target with 0.5% Fe impurities. Observing the accelerated Fe ions with a Polyimide stack detector and an X-ray spectrometer, almost fully stripped Fe ions (Fe+25) with 16 MeV/u were obtained.
