The mechanism by which lichens retain Cs for long periods could be assumed, by the following methods: preparation for tissue sections of lichens divided according to the different distribution pattern of radiocaesium and combining autoradiography, digital microscopy, electron microscopy analysis and quantum chemical calculations.
