Fig. 11-2 Dosimetry process of a BNCT with JCDS

A detailed model of a patient's head is created based on CT and MRI medical imaging data. Absorbed doses in the head are calculated using the patient's head model as defined by several calculation conditions, such as beam distance and direction, with a general Monte-Carlo N-Particle transport code MCNP. The calculation results are superimposed directly on the original CT and MRI medical images. Further, much information needed for BNCT treatment can be outputted from the JCDS.
