Monoenergetic neutron calibration field Monoenergetic neutrons are generated by a nuclear reaction resulting from accelerated protons or deuterons bombarding the target. Various neutron dosimeters are calibrated in these fields. The neutron fluence at the calibration point is determined from the count of the neutron monitor placed at an angle of 60 degrees to the beam line.
